Family Time Crosswords
Privacy Policy
Effective 12 August 2026. Operator: Advanced Learning Academy LLC (Carmel, Indiana), publishing Family Time Crosswords by Timothy E. Parker, Guinness World Records Puzzle Master.
What we collect
- Display name — the nickname you enter for a Family Connect room. Shown to your puzzle partner.
- Account email and password — only if you create a dashboard account. Password is stored as a hash. Email is used to sign you in, send a sign-in link when you ask, and send purchase receipts.
- Family Connect play data — room code, cell entries, chat, and completion times for that session.
- Subscriber progress — if you have Unlimited access: solve times, history, and your place in the puzzle sequence, stored on our servers.
- Device storage — solo progress, display name, and preferences on this device.
- Payment — Stripe processes card payments. We receive subscription status and customer identifiers. We do not store full card numbers.
- Technical logs — IP address and basic request data used for rate limiting, security, and to keep the service running.
What we do not do
- No advertising pixels or third-party ad tracking.
- No sale of personal information.
- No recording of video or voice calls.
Video and voice
Family Connect video is optional. Media is sent peer-to-peer when the browsers can connect directly. If a direct path is not possible, a relay (TURN) may carry the stream so the call can connect. We do not record calls.
Cookies and sign-in
Signed-in sessions use an essential cookie. Guest Family Connect play does not require an account. Creating an account does require an email address.
Children
This service is built for families. Children under 13 should play with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly create standalone accounts for children under 13.
Retention and deletion
Room data is kept as needed for play history and then removed by routine cleanup. To request deletion of an account or stored progress, email privacy@familytimecrosswords.com or use the contact page.
